Avene Cleanance Gel Cleanser Review!

Hi Ladies!

If you read my post around a month ago about receiving some free samples from Avene then you'll know that I got sent the Cleanance Gel Cleanser and the Cleanance K Lotion, If you missed the post I'm referring to and would like to read it click here

Today I'm going to be reviewing the Cleanance Gel Cleanser and let me start by saying that I have used this sample for over three weeks now and I still have about a third of the bottle left which I think is amazing for a 25ml sample, a little goes a long way which is perfect for when you really want to test a product out because as we all know a product can seem great at first but after a week or so you realise it's breaking you out or drying your skin and it actually doesn't suit you at all.

Avene is a french skincare company who's products contain Avene Thermal Spring Water which is clinically proven to soothe sensitive skin. Although the products are perfect for sensitive skin you don't have to have sensitive skin to use them as they produce products for all skin types, my skin is oily and prone to breakouts and the Cleanance Gel is for oily, blemish prone skin so it's perfect for me.

It's a foaming cleanser which I always find nice because having oily skin makes my face feel dirty and I like to use something that foams as it makes my skin feel clean. It's described as an "Ultra mild cleansing gel for blemish prone skin. Helps purify the skin and regulate oil secretion"

I've been using this cleanser morning and night but at night I remove my makeup with a face wipe before I use the cleanser because it doesn't say anything about using it on your eyes and I didn't want to risk stinging them, I splash my face with water first and then put a 5 pence piece amount of the gel in my hand and foam it up in my hands before massaging it in to my face and then splashing off with water.

The cleanser I was using previously used to leave my skin feeling quite dry and tight afterwards and I'd be needing to put my moisturiser on a.s.a.p as it felt uncomfortable which I find is quite common for cleansers designed for oily skin but this cleanser didn't do that, after using it my skin felt really nice and clean but not dry or tight at all which I loved! I feel like it helped to calm my breakouts down and take the redness down a bit but I don't feel like it made a massive difference to reducing them. I noticed my skin is a little less oily whilst using this cleanser but I can't say it's made a massive difference in that department either.

Overall I really liked this cleanser, I love that it didn't dry my skin out and it has a nice scent and would last you for ages, it's not too expensive at £8.25 for 200ml from Boots and it's currently on a 3 for 2 offer there at the moment on all summer products. However as much as I liked it, it didn't blow me away and I feel like I'm still on the look out for a holy grail cleanser.

Has anyone else used the Avene Cleanance Gel cleanser? If so what did you think? Have you found your holy grail cleanser yet?

Let me know!
