Ok so I'll admit I went a bit nuts with the exfoliating products but I wanted to test them all out and see what I liked best . The first product I'll talk about is The Greatest Scrub Of All because I've had this for ages, it's basically just your bog standard grainy facial scrub, it does exactly what it says on the tin, all you do is take a grape sized amount in your hand and massage into cleansed skin for a couple of minutes and rinse off with water. I like it and use it a couple of times a week, it leaves my skin feeling fresh and smooth but it's nothing special.
Next product is The Fab Pore 15 Minute Facial Peel, Soap & Glory describe this as having " an intensive pore refining action with our exclusive PORESHRINK-R COMPLEX. Ideal for greasy, spot prone or problem skin, or for a strategic attack on a misbehaving T-Zone" They say it contains...
- FOMES OFFICINALIS EXTRACT: A mushroom extract to tighten pores.
- SALICYLIC ACID: which loosens up the dead cells that contribute to pore clogging
- KAOLIN: that’s ‘cosmetic’ for clay. It sops up extra oil on your skin and smoothes your skin’s surface
- VITAMINS E & C: Antioxidants. Just because you’re oily, doesn’t mean you’re not aging
Next is the No Clogs Allowed Deep Pore Detox Mask, this mask scared me when I first used it because it is self heating and as soon as you start to rub it into your face it heats up really fast, gets quite hot and for a few seconds I was thinking if this gets any hotter I'm gonna have to wash it off but it only stays hot for a minute and as quickly as it heated up it cools down. It tells you to massage into your face until the product turns blue and wash it straight off for a fast refresh or leave on for 3-5 minutes and sponge off (you get a free sponge with this product) for a squeakier clean. I left it on for 5 mins and I didn't bother with the sponge I just splashed my face with water and I can definately say my skin felt squeaky clean after using this! It makes your skin feel so clean and refreshed which is a really nice feeling if you've got oily skin because my skin always feels dirty, I love this product and I think I'd buy this again.
Lastly I needed a new eye cream and as I'm 32 I'm starting to really get into using anti-ageing products, especially around my eyes as I know that's an area that starts to show signs of ageing first. I chose the You Won't Believe Your Eyes Illuminating Under Eye Serum and this is how Soap & Glory describe it
"Ingenious new TRI-BALL ROLLERTUBE fights under eye puffiness! This Soap & Glory You Won't Believe Your Eyes™ Illuminating Under-Eye Serum 15ml helps to soothe, cool and smooth tired puffy eyes.
What’s inside that counts?
• AMC - Advanced Moisture Complex plus a cellular booster to help reduce the appearance of under eye dark shadows.
• SESAFLASH - skin tightening agents and special illuminators help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and provide a soft focus and brightening effect.
• Soothing and cooling concentrated CUCUMBER JUICE and allantoin.
Suitable for all eye types"
To apply it you just squeeze the tube until the serum seeps onto the roller balls and roll under your eyes from inner corner outwards. I really don't like this eye serum, it doesn't seem to soak into my skin it just sits on top and then dries and when you try to apply concealer under your eyes it kind of rubs off and you're left with bits stuck in your concealer which just looks gross. It does say that you can apply it over makeup to brighten your eyes but I feel like it would rub my makeup off if I did that, maybe I should try it though. Overall I'm really disappointed with this product and I feel like the only time I could use it is at night when I'm not wearing makeup but even then it just doesn't feel nice on my skin. I definately won't be buying this again.
Overall I think Soap & Glory Products are a bit hit and miss, some products I love, some I don't like and some are just ok but you really have to try them yourself to find out what you think. Has anyone else used any of these products? What did you think? Can anyone recommend a product to me that you think I might like? I'd love to hear from you! :) xx
